- Event Logistics Associate: The Events Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the logistics of various events organized by The Institute of Public Scholarship. This position involves assisting with the setup, breakdown, and overall preparation of event spaces for a wide range of Institute activities, including meetings, showcases, concerts, exhibitions, field trips, etc. The successful candidate will work closely with the events team lead to ensure that all events run smoothly and efficiently. - Seasonal Event Associate: The Seasonal Events Associate is responsible for supporting the preparation, execution, and breakdown of event spaces for The Institute of Public Scholarship’s seasonal events. This role involves hands-on assistance with logistics, including event setup, equipment organization, and maintaining event spaces. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the success of community-focused events such as meetings, showcases, concerts, exhibitions, and outdoor gatherings. - Garden Tech: Join a transformative project that seeks to turn vacant land into thriving community assets, promoting food security, sustainability, and community empowerment. As a Garden Tech, you will play a vital role in maintaining and expanding the community garden, fostering relationships with local residents, and ensuring the long-term success of this community-centered initiative within the Institute of Public Scholarship. - Co-Lead Garden Specialist: The Lead Garden Specialist/Groundskeeper is responsible for overseeing the cultivation and maintenance of the Institute's Garden, focusing on promoting food sustainability within Black and Brown communities in the North Side neighborhood. This role involves propagating indigenous crops and plants with healing properties, ensuring the garden’s health and productivity, and leading a team to achieve these objectives. Additionally, the position includes managing budgets, processing receipts, handling employee W-9 forms and overseeing invoices. - Flyer Distributer: We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Flyer Distributors. As a Flyer Distributor, you will be responsible for spreading awareness about our events by distributing flyers throughout the city. This role involves walking or driving to designated locations and strategically placing flyers in high-traffic areas such as community bulletin boards, cafes, libraries, and other relevant locations.
Young Scholars
- Youth Development Director: The Youth Development Director will be a dynamic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing innovative youth programs in the fields of humanities, science, and the arts. The role requires a committed professional with a passion for youth development and the ability to bridge gaps across disciplines. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Youth Development Director will contribute to shaping a comprehensive curriculum, overseeing program planning, and ensuring that activities align with the Institute's mission and values. - Youth Empowerment Coach: focuses on helping young people develop the skills, mindset, and confidence they need to achieve their goals and overcome challenges. The role typically involves mentorship, skill-building, and fostering personal growth to empower youth to thrive in their personal, academic, and social lives. - Food and Nutrition Lead: The Food and Nutrition Program Lead is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive food and nutrition program for youth. This role includes conducting research on healthy nutrition practices, creating meal plans, preparing meals, and educating participants on the importance of a balanced diet. The position aims to promote healthy eating habits and overall wellness among youth participants.
