Sounds of Our Stories
Ancestral Discovery, Healing Modalities, and Cultural Resonance through Sound and Music
The Sound Of Our Stories project aims to provide a transformative and holistic experience that empowers individuals within the community to explore their ancestral heritage, embrace healing modalities, and connect deeply with their cultural roots through the medium of sound and music. By incorporating DNA analysis, primary sources, secondary sources, workshops with healing experts, and immersive retreats, this project will create a comprehensive approach to self-discovery, healing, and cultural reconnection.

Sounds of Our Stories - Core Values
Empowerment Sounds of Our Stories empowers the willing individual to build the self, the community (as well as connect with genealogical and ancestral history) to leave an impact and/or legacy. Access We are a means for public access to art making, information, and resources for each person to have essential needs, create freely and connect richly with their culture and community. Education We utilize and commit ourselves to Unbiased Teaching Ethics. We remain soft and vigilant as we prepare and present information. We stay curious. We teach people how to make connections. We inspire lifelong learning. Ethical Art Making, Catharsis and Archiving We choose to introduce multidisciplinary art with an inquiry basis as that de-centers traditional historical narratives and technical mastery. Our activities, exhibitions, content, and programming will prioritize engagement, catharsis, cultural responsiveness and personalization. Individual’s artistic expression can be archived to preserve personal, familial, and cultural story, redeeming that which has often been intentionally erased. Spiritual Integration with Art We develop a practice of Spiritual Ethics when leading activities or sharing information, histories, and having discourse. We utilize the 3 C’s of Spiritual Ethics. These ethics call us to lead and listen from a place of Comfort, Curiosity and making Connections. |

Decolonizing Music Education Philosophy or Event(s)
We provide an community pathway to participatory art making that destigmatizes and decolonizes perspectives of what music is and who is able to access it. Our methodology demystifies the history of music and the industry built around it. We utilize the theoretical concept of tension, release, and harmony to reveal truth. We present a liberated path to accepting the totality of the human experience in the music creation process. We empower our students to harness their authentic expression, discover their soul song and experience a cathartic, spiritually integrated relationship with music that positively effects every aspect of their lives.
